A bike shop next door to Bandidos motorcycle gang’s Breakwater club house was up in flames last night.
Eight CFA vehicles and emergency services were called to the scene at about 9pm after reports of smoke.
The South Side Custom Bikes store at Bayldon Crt was ablaze for some hours before being brought under control just after midnight.
Police said no one was injured.
Geelong local area commander Inspector Graham Banks said the area is being treated as a crime scene.
“At this stage it is early in the investigation and we are yet to determine the cause of the fire,“ Insp Banks said.
“An Arson Chemist will be examining the scene late this morning, which should shed light onto the cause.”
The fire came a day after police raided at least seven properties linked to the Geelong chapter of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang.
Police made five arrests and seized four firearms, drugs, cash, weapons and stolen vehicles.
Detective Inspector Marty O’Brien said the raids were part of an extensive six month investigation into alleged drug trafficking by people connected to the gang.
Police urged anyone with information about the fire to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
